After a trip out shopping, Dylan gets in the house and starts saying "where my Rockin'Coon?"

PARDON???

He repeats again, same pronunciation.....

"WHERE MY ROCKIN'COON?"

finally something twigs with me...

The
RACCOON
that I bought from Micheal's 20 minutes earlier.
Because it was on sale in November for next to nothing
A doggy the size of Dylan
dressed up for halloween
wearing a mask
the ROCKIN'COON.

"he's in the garage Dylan, I'll go get him" I say.

Dyl's response?

" I luff him"

Mat and I have spent many many MANY days in Waterton.
It has to rank as one of our top places to be.
I always say I want to retire there, but actually...
I want to win the lottery and spend my summers there.

And then go back for a week at a time for a really harsh, cold, isolated winter.
Where you wander the streets, and pass more animals then people.
Where you can't pop into a corner store, because EVERYTHING is closed.
With the exception of one hotel.

But when we were in Alberta, the sun was shining, and we took Dylan to Waterton for the first time.
He was thrilled that they had a water park.
Who wouldn't like to play in the shadow of the amazing mountains?

Fly by the seat of my pants Friday

So I totally had NOTHING planned for Friday's blog.
But I'm up late Thursday night after reality TV bliss.

Big Brother
&
new season of
Jersey Shore.

LOVES IT !!!!!

stupid Shaw cable
(oh ya, I'm publicly naming you)
has been acting up
well to be honest,
CRAPPING OUT
at the worst times.
So I missed a valuable part of BB.
So as soon as Jersey Shore ended, and Mat's snoring began
I came down to check who is the new HOH on BB.
(still with me??)

AND
discovered, no Friday blog post.
CRAP.
Think Fast.
Make Something up.

And thus
Fly by the seat of my pants Friday is created.

Dylan and Rowan playing on the Wii- dancing to Micheal Jackson.
Rowan did well.
Dyl had no idea what to do.
So he copied Rowan.
And held the controller that doesn't work.

Happy Friday.

In the same vein as my last post- I convinced Mat that we should go to the stampede on kid's day.
It's free if you get there before 9 am, and bring your kid, or a kid you are able to borrow.  Luckily for us- we have a child.
Score !!!

Through the gate no problem !
Hardly a line?

Free breakfast- no line !

It started to spit a bit of rain.... not a biggie, we have the stroller cover....

 Made friends with some animals.....
I personally LOVE horse noses....

And then...
the sky turned
an awful shade of
blue
black
grey

And the sky opened up and poured and poured and poured....
as I waited in line outside
YES.
O.U.T.S.I.D.E
for tickets to the superdogs.
Mat bought us cheapy ponchos that look like garbage bags.
And we stood in the line.
Getting soaked.

There are no photos- too stressed, drenched and worried about my camera.
But in the end, we did do some fun things...

We walked and walked and
walked....

We rested our newly pedicured feet.

And we took our tired boy home after lunch.

Mat and I returned later in the evening for some adult fun.

Mmmm... Poutine.

We celebrated Dylan's half birthday without a lot of fan fair this year.  It's been a tradition in our house to celebrate half birthdays for Dyl since he's born just after Christmas

Everyone knows Dylan L O V E S  sushi.
So this year I made candy sushi, and it was a hit.
We took it over to a friend's house and had a lovely dinner.
Followed by naked sprinkler running.
By the two year olds.
They ran in the sprinkler in all their glory... fell in the sand/dirt, and then climbed up the climber and slid down the slide- all in the buff.
It was so cute, so fun, and just really a good example of creating good childhood memories.
The mom of the other nuddie said the same thing.
Good childhood memories.

The dirt washed off,
the redness from the slide on Dyl's tushie faded
but we hope the memories won't...

Great times.

How we spent our anniversary

--at a Donkey Refuge !  Spare me the comments and jokes about going to see donkeys on our anniversary.   I'm sure there could be lots of well thought out jokes. (I won't even go there)

But in all seriousness, it was really cool, and although Dylan took while to warm up to the donkeys, he enjoyed himself, and finally decided to start petting them.  It's a great place out in turtle valley- not too far from Kamloops.

If you know us, you know we are animal lovers, and the donkeys have the cutest faces, and the sweetest dispositions.  Except Jose- a new mini donkey who has decided he's in charge of the other donkeys... really funny.  He put another donkey in his place before everyone arrived- I forget the name of the donkey that lost his rank to Jose, but needless to say, he looked a bit sheepish.
(if a donkey can look sheepish)

First some humour, and then more pics of our adventure.

Random Grannie/Grandad's Visit

Nurse Grannie, Doctor Dylan, Sick Patient Barney.
After the patients were attended to, they were thrown off the couch and told "Bye-bye"
He really has to work on his bedside manner if this is something he wants to pursue.

Nurse Grannie taking her work VERY seriously...

Better bedside manner with Diego
